Aoife Pollins completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy BSc (Hons) degree at Robert Gordon University in Scotland in 2010. Since graduating she has worked in a range of positions in the field of Occupational Therapy, mainly in the United Kingdom.  Her first position was in Ireland working with the Travelling Community, where she worked with individuals with rare hereditary disorders. Aoife then moved to London where she worked in a Community Substance Misuse Service. Her most recent post, before commencing in the Neuropsychiatry Ward at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, was in an Acute Psychiatric Ward at a Private Mental Health Hospital in the North East of England. Aoife has now moved to Australia to take up the Occupational Therapy position on the Neuropsychiatry In-patient Ward at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Aoife works here with clients to assess how their current level of day to day functioning impacts on activities that are meaningful to them. This is with the aim of assisting clients to improve their quality of life as well as helping with the over all diagnostic aim of the team.
